The Western Hampden County Public Health District (WHCPHD) is dedicated to safeguarding and improving the health of our communities through coordinated efforts and innovative public health solutions. Established to unify local health departments across Western Massachusetts, WHCPHD fosters collaboration to address public health challenges effectively. Tricia E. Sedelow
BSN RN
Tricia currently serves as the full-time Public Health Nurse for our district. She was hired in October 2022. Tricia graduated with a degree in nursing from Elms College. Tricia served as a Public Health Nurse for a Connecticut district before and during the COVID pandemic. Before obtaining her nursing degree, she was employed with the City of Holyoke for 23 years. MaryAnn Deming
MSN RN
MaryAnn joined the WHCPHD team in January 2024 and currently serves as our part-time Public Health Nurse focusing on support for Blandford, Russell and Montgomery. She graduated with a degree in nursing from University of St Joseph in CT in 1989 and later completed her MSN with a focus in adult healthcare education. MaryAnn spent most of her nursing career in a variety of roles in the acute care setting before transitioning to Public Health. Caileen T. Simonds
BS MPH
Caileen currently serves as the full-time Shared Service Coordinator for our district. Starting with the district in June 2024. Caileen graduated with a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a focus in health management and policy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. A passionate public health advocate, Caileen is committed to ensuring preventative health and safety programs for district residents.
